Little Eskimo Layout

A super quick page on little Elise wearing a suit from her youngest uncle. Grace says she looks like a bear, and my elder sister says she's like a little Eskimo. To me, she's just cute and adorable.

Whipped this up real quickly in between my other big projects. Now on to handmade Christmas present and a display for my brother.

Here's the layout...

Materials used: Cardstock: Kraft; Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper; Chipboard shapes: Cosmo Cricket; Alphabets: Cosmo Cricket; Stickers: Chatter Box, Paper Craft Inspirations.

Princess goes to school

There's a party at school for Grace today to celebrate children's day and the dress code is fairytale wear! Wow...that was fun!

Okay, now on to our Grace's part of the story. Last Tuesday, teachers communicated with parents (via a communication booklet) and of course the students about the upcoming party. Once up on the car, Grace told me that they are going to have a party and they need not wear their school uniform but need to wear something beautiful and pretty. So, when I got to know that it is fairytale wear, I searched the Internet for ideas and hopefully to fine something to order online. At this point of time, the very excited Grace was determine to dress up as a fairy.

Nah....can't find anything nice locally and we don't have the time to order overseas. So, I told Grace that we will go search at Toys R Us and if there's none, then I will order a tutu outfit online, buy the fairy wings and magic wand from Toys R Us. This little girl of mine, could not wait any longer and so we have to hit the shopping mall the very day itself.

While at Toys R Us, Grace was still determine to dress up as a fairy, so we looked and looked for a fairy outfit. Nope...can't find, so we looked at the fairy wings. Then, we spotted a few dress up kit. And at this time, Grace changed her mind. She ended up with a princess outfit complete with accessories. Of course, she needs to try it on as soon as we reach home. Here she is on Tuesday night...

And sure enough she was very excited the whole week, waiting eagerly for Friday to come. And she was super excited yesterday....she even laughed in her sleep.....hehehe...

This morning, there's no need for me to wake her up. She woke up herself way before the usual time, waste no time and she's in her outfit. Here's the pretty princess today....

Sneak Peak for 大姐 (da jie - elder sister)

Well, my sister will be expecting her first born (a son!) this coming December and as the "crafty" aunt, I just need to handmade him something. I got some information from my sis, went shopping (online) for papers and stuff and quickly jump into making the handmade gifts (just in case I eventually decide that the papers and chipboard shapes are too cute to give out...hehehe).

As I always sees crafty person (those on DT role) make sneak peak post on the blog, I just have to follow.....I won't be posting the project until my sis got her package and sees it first.

Da jie, this package....
will have to take a truck/train to KL, get through custom, board a plane to the US (maybe a few plane trips), get through another custom, then take truck/train, before it could reach your door step (please, please, have a safe trip). According to the post person, it will normally take 15 working days. For now, just feast your eyes on these sneak peaks......

The other day....

...Grace came home with quite a number of pages of alphabet writing homework (she was absent earlier, so accumulated homework). And so, after our usual afternoon nap, I left Elise (whom also has had her afternoon nap) on the bed in our room and proceed to have a homework session with Grace at our dining table.

I will always sit with Grace during her homework session to give her support and motivation to complete her homework. She was writing upper case for a set of lower case. So, upon finishing one upper case, I will say out loud a "good" word that starts with the alphabet. Here's Grace concentrating on her homework.

All during this time, little Elise is alone in the bedroom, but to my surprise, she did not make a fuss about that. Off course, I occasionally peep at her.

What did she do to entertain herself? Well, she's doing her recently acquired "grab-your-shirt-and-pull-upwards-to-your-mouth" trick. And when I found her, she was like this.....

Their time together....

..always started off with laughter (from Grace, Elise have not started laughing), then, almost every time it turn to cries! This is how it happens. Ms Big Sister will sing for Ms Little Sister, and as Ms Big Sister loves her little sister so much, she kiss and hug and holds her little sisters face very often. Then Ms Little Sister gets upset for being kiss, hug and held so often by the full of love creature (her big sister) and started crying, which then followed by mommy cuddling little sister and may sometimes nurse her. Then Ms Big Sister gets a little upset and jealous that mummy is attending to little sister and not accompanying her. Sigh.....

Nevertheless, both Ms Big Sister and Ms Little Sister still loves each other dearly and loves to entertain each other. Here's a video of Ms Big Sister entertaining Ms Little Sister.

Before Grace started singing (above), she was practicing her public speaking in front of little Elise. My camera was going from Grace to Elise again and again to snap a few photos and didn't realise the below until I uploaded it to my computer. Here.....

Crafty time....

These 2 layouts have been "sitting" on my desk for some time now, just couldn't find the time to post about them. It took me a few days, from choosing and assembling the materials to be used until the completion of the layout. Elise is just so sticky.

My crafting time is so limited and yet I have to balance it across making handmade gifts for my soon-to-be born nephew in the US, making handmade Christmas gifts, planning, making and designing Grace's birthday goodies bag....phew that's a lot of things.

Enough of ramblings, here's the 2 super simple layout.

Layout 1: Grace just loves to try on things that is not hers, even her little sister's cap.

Materials used: Cardstock: American Crafts, The Paper Company; Patterned paper: Sassafras Lass, Cosmo Cricket; Chipboard shapes: Cosmo Cricket; Alphabets: American Crafts; Embossing die: Spellbinders Impressabilities Die; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Layout 2: Documenting the love between Grace and Elise.

Materials used: Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper; Alphabets: American Crafts; Flowers: Prima; Buttons: Little Red Cottage; Decorative Envelope: Maya Road; Border Punch: Martha Steward; Photo Corners: Scrapbook Adhesives.
