Rationalizing

Well, just to jot down 2 cases of Grace rationalizing a situation.

First
On Saturday, we were at my mom's place and were playing toy cars (in fact those are London taxi and London Bus models, James Bond's car model and many more). For some reason, Grace loves to play cars too. So she were playing with my mom and there's this one incident where a moving car collided with a stationary car. When collision happens, the one which was not moving, due to the momentum, moved a little. Grace saw that. Then, my mom pushed another car at Grace's direction, whom was lying on the floor, and the car hit Grace. Later this conversation took place.

Grandma: That stationary car moved when a moving car hit it. How come you don't move when the car hit you?
Grace: Because that is a car and I'm a human. (因为那个是车，我是人吗！)

Second
Yesterday I was having a meeting after Sunday Service. Hubby look after Grace and bought some jelly to entertain her while waiting for me. However, my meeting when longer than the amusement the jelly could bring. So another church member, Ronnie, took Grace for a walk. And like most of the time, they came back with something on Grace's hand. We had told Grace not to request for things from others, as we don't want her to get the idea that she will get everything and anything that she wants. Sometimes, she will remember and tells Uncle Ronnie not to buy things for her. But sometimes, she just chooses to get hold of the opportunity. So yesterday while on the way home, I had this conversation with her:

She was having the Rocky biscuits that Uncle Ronnie bought for her.
Mummy: Who bought you the biscuits?
Grace: My Uncle Ronnie (ya...she likes that make everything and everyone hers)
Mummy: Next time, please don't asked others to keep on buying things for you. That's not good.
Grace: (thinking for a while).......But I was hungry and wanted to eat this!
Mummy: (oh dear.....she's rationalizing her problem)
