Catching up with blogging.....

Whoa....there's so much to catch up on....my blogging, my crafting, my blog hopping. Had been extremely busy the past few days. **Warning" this is gonna be a super long post**

It started with Grace falling sick on last Tuesday and lasted until the day before yesterday (Monday), then the annual church Children Camp and then us (Grace and I) staying over at my parents' for celebrating my mom's birthday. A whole lot of activities!

Let's start with Grace falling sick. She woke up from her afternoon nap with a fever (with no other sickness) on Tuesday. Seeing that there's no cough or flu, I gave her panadol through the night. The next day, the fever is still there and I brought her to the doctor on Wednesday night. Diagnose as fever due to throat ulcer and was given antibiotic.

The next day, which was the first day of the Children Camp (more on this later), Grace was showing signs of recovering and thus I let her join the camp as planned. But in the evening and night, the fever came.

On Friday morning, the fever seems to have left, so she continued with the camp. And, yes, during the evening and night, the fever came back. So I brought her to a children specialist centre. Was prescribed another type of antibiotic.

On Saturday, again the fever was not "around" in the morning and even the evening. So Grace had a blast during the "convocation" night. But when we tested on her after the event, her fever was way up high. It gave me a shock. We brought her back to the company panel clinic. The doctor there refer us to specialist in Adventist Hospital, but we could only go next day. So, during the night, we (me and hubby) woke up numerous time to check on her.

On Sunday, the specialist took a lot at Grace and I told her about her swollen and reddish gums (which I only noticed on Friday night) and also some ulcers. Diagnosed as viral infection on the mouth, but so as not to miss out on other possibilities, she did a blood test. Grace was so brave during the blood test. No cries nor tantrums. She could even look as the lab guy press and bottle up her blood bit by bit. I couldn't, I had to look the other way. Well, negative on dengue. Was prescribed a super expensive anti-viral medication, which Grace needs to take 5ml, 5 times a day for 5 days. And it proves that the super expensive medication is in fact doing its work. No more fever after 1 full day of the medication. And she's doing fine now.

Ok, now onto the Children camp. It had been 4 four years since Grace followed me to the camp and this is her first year of "officially" attending the camp. You may ask, how come 4 years where Grace is only 2 years 9 months? Well, the first year (2006), she followed me in my womb. I still remember telling the students the story on the birth of Jesus. Then on 2007 and 2008 she went to camp but was too young to attend. Well, though the minimum age is 3 years old, we decided to let her have a try. And I must say, I'm glad I did, and I'm proud of her.

She was extremely excited that she gets to attend the camp and she was very independent (with the care of her class teacher) throughout the camp. She even refuses to let me feed her during lunch time. She fed herself 2 lunch and 1 dinner. Such a good girl! Nevertheless, she's still a little young, so one could see that she will be roaming around or jumping around when asked to practice on their presentation. When they were having rehearsal, Grace was not doing her "actions" properly, so I suggested that we let her have the microphone, then she will stand still and sing her songs.

Well, it did worked. During the actual event, they positioned the microphone in front of her but the microphone was placed a little higher than her. And this little girl of mine, tip-toe so as to reach for the microphone. It was then adjusted and she had a hand holding the microphone on the mic stand (for fear that mic will disappear if she let go) then sing her songs and doing action with her other hand. What a cute sight! I'm again so proud of her!

Well, I will update my mom's birthday part in another post. Don't want to bore you with too many words. I will leave you with some of the photos taken during the camp.

That is very good for a little girl not quite 3 years old. She is really very special.

Both my kids were down with fever last week. It's the season for fever + flu + cough. Take care!
